Treatments
Results
You will start noticing a difference in your facial muscles about 2-7 days after getting the injections, with the full effect taking up to two weeks. Results generally last 3-4 months. Some patients experience results even longer (4-6 months), while others see their results lasting closer to two months. It’s also important to note that first-time results tend to not last quite as long. Most patients prefer to have follow-up treatments every three or four months to maintain their results.
Downtime and Side effects
One thing that patients love most about this treatment is that it demands no recovery time. Some patients do experience side effects such as headache, nausea, temporary eyelid drooping, and/or bruising and numbness at the injection sites, but these are very rare. Who is a good candidate?
As a general rule, if you begin to see lines and wrinkles that are visible when your facial muscles are relaxed, it’s probably time to start treatments. For some, this may be as early as the mid-20s, while for others, the lines and wrinkles become evident in the mid to late 30s. The effects of aging appear at various times based on genetics, ethnicity, and environmental factors such as wind, cold weather, and sun exposure.

Pre-Treatment
- Avoid excessively exfoliating your face
- Avoid NSAIDS on the day of your procedure.
- Inform your physician if you are on any blood thinners prior to your treatment.
Post-Treatment
- Avoid rubbing and massaging the treated area for 24 hours.
- Avoid strenuous physical activity.
- Avoid consuming large amounts of alcohol.
- Avoid getting facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, etc. for 24 hours.
- If you get a bruise, topical arnica can help.
